It has been a while since we had a wander around Wandoo. Mainly due to the signs put up around the area by The Water Corp saying no entry.
This trip was going to be in two parts. Firstly north of the highway and secondly south of the highway.
We met up at the BP roadhouse at The Lakes for a coffee and briefing.

Once all were assembled, we headed off along the highway towards Inkpen Road where we would air down and head into the bush.

This first section is mainly good forestry tracks with the odd fallen tree to navigate.
The next section of the track was a little wetter with a couple of easy muddy puddles to go through. The fun part was nearer the highway where we came to a long-wet section with 2 distinct tracks. One worse than the other. After a quick look with sticks in hand to check the depth, it was decided that the left one was the better choice. There is always one who disagrees though.

After this damp section we headed towards the other side of the highway where it was evident that the water crossings were going to get a little more interesting. Lee decided that the deep one was worth a go. Sadly, there was no stick test prior to his attempt, and this resulted in the Cruiser getting stuck. The Perentie was quickly positioned in front of him, and a tow rope attached to both cars.

I gave Lee a bit of a pull and he was out with ease. I recon if he tried a little harder, he could have made it out on his own. The result was a bit of a soggy interior with a splash of mud to boot.
As it was getting close to lunch time we headed east on (Excuse the spelling) Ngnangagurring Road to Mount Observation. Here we all swapped stories and had a feed and loo stop before heading back west on that road again.

Turning left onto Uring Road and heading south we were going to see how far we could get before we saw any No Entry signs. Thankfully we did not see any signs as we turned onto Pony Road so, we continued onto the lookout rock where we stopped for another photo opportunity.

We continued west on Pony Road to Wundabinnaring Road where we headed back towards the muddy puddles. This time it was Lin who provided us with the entertainment by dropping into a puddle on a funky angle and getting stuck. We quickly attached a winch rope and gently pulled her out. The door seals on the car must be good as there was no water inside despite how far she had dropped into the water.

We were now almost back at the highway, so we tested a few more puddles before finally airing up.
I am glad we still have access to this area as it has some spectacular scenery as well as some challenging 4-wheel driving.
Thanks to everyone who came along I hope you had as much fun as I did.
Thanks, All Trackers.
