As most of you all know, Whitehills is one of my favourite beaches. When the weather warms up, I like to run a few beach and fishing trips here. This trip was the first trip for the season. Like we normally do, meeting point was at the Miami Bakery in Falcon. After feeding our faces with over priced pies, we made our way down to Whitehills. During the off season, Whitehills Rd had a nice bitumen road surface installed. They continued the road, from where we used to air down, right up to the big hill, before descending down.
Looking for a new spot to air down, I knew there was an area, just on the other side of the hill. This was of no use to us, the area was too small for the amount of cars (us and other beach users), so we carried on. We ended up stopping just before you entered onto the beach.
The drive on the beach was pleasant. The sand was nice and firm, and best of all, we had perfect weather conditions too.
Eventually stopping past the remains of the old patrol/landcruiser. I cant remember what it was now.
Arriving at our lunch stop, Shane, Nick and myself quickly got out our fishing rods, while the rest admired the day. Keith had a quick play, testing out his new 4wd, while Sean and Brandon threw the ball for their fur babies.
With all the burley being thrown into the water, the Herring’s came on the bite, Shane was the first to catch a fish.
With a “not very quick” flick of the knife, all the fish were filleted, lunch was had. All packed up, we made our way for Preston Beach. Keith even had a nice little play while on the way out.
Arriving at Preston Beach, we all found a spot to air up, before making our way home. Overall, this was a great day out, and yes, I do plan on doing a fishing only trip out here soon.
