Tech – WhatsApp on PC.

I have been asked, “‘”what’s the best way to send my photos from a still camera to whatsapp?”.

This question has come about, since we recently started broadcasting our trip photos at our general meetings.

I will try my best to show you how to do it.  Now, I do use WhatsApp on an Iphone, but I assume the Android version of WhatsApp is similar. (Please note, some things will be blurred out for privacy reasons).

Step 1. Download all your photos from your camera, and onto your computer, in a folder you want to save them to.

Step 2. Go onto your computer’s web browser, and then onto Google  (www.google.com.au)

Step 3. In the google search bar, type in “whatsapp web”

Step 4. When you click on the link, it will bring you to another web page.  This page has a QR code.

Step 5. On your phone, go into your WhatsApp, bottom left corner, click on “Setting” then “Linked Devices” then “Link Device”.

Step 7. This step is very easy.

Just point your phone camera to the QR code on your computer monitor.

This will sync your WhatsApp from your phone, and onto your computer.

You now have WhatsApp on your PC.

Step 8. From here, you simply need to click on the chat group you wish to talk/share pics with.

In this case, you are sharing a pic. It’s as simple as clicking on the photo you want to share, and drag it (from the folder created in Step 1) over to WhatsApp. WhatsApp will automatically pick it up.

This step is made easier if you have 2 monitors, as you can have WhatsApp on one screen and your photos on the other screen. If you only have 1 screen, you may have to do a split screen. If you are unsure on how to do a split screen, you may need to ask a family member.

I hope this helps.
